Escherichia coli K-12 substr. MG1655 Polypeptide: conserved protein

Gene: rtn Accession Numbers: G7148 (EcoCyc), b2176, ECK2170

Regulation Summary Diagram: ?

Summary:
Rtn has a C-terminal EAL domain with a conserved consensus active site [Sommerfeldt09]. Rtn has two predicted transmembrane domains; based on a high-throughput study, the carboxy-terminus of Rtn is located in the cytoplasm [Daley05].

rtn was originally misidentified as a gene of another organism, Proteus vulgaris [Hall97].

rtn is expressed during exponential growth in rich media at both 37 and 28°C [Sommerfeldt09].
