Summary:
The Blc protein is a globomycin-sensitive outer membrane lipoprotein [Bishop95]. Expression of the blc gene is induced at the beginning of stationary phase [Bishop95]. The Blc crystal structure has been solved at 1.8 A resolution [Campanacci04].

Structural analysis of the purified Blc protein suggest a possible role for the outer membrane lipoprotein Blc in membrane repair or maintenance requiring lipid storage or transport [Campanacci04].
