|Gene:||yneM||Accession Numbers: G0-8892 (EcoCyc), b4599, ECK4409|
YneM contains a predicted transmembrane segment, and the protein can be found in the membrane fraction [Hemm08]. Using a sucrose fractionation protocol the majority of YneM partitions into the inner membrane fraction [Fontaine11]. Topology assays using GFP and PhoA fusion proteins suggest that YneM is oriented with the C-terminus in the cytoplasm [Fontaine11].
yneM mRNA has been detected [Wassarman01]. yneM is expressed during stationary phase (data not shown) [Hemm08]. Expression of yneM is lower in minimal glucose medium than in rich medium, increases upon heat shock and SDS/EDTA treatment, and decreases upon diamide treatment [Hemm10].
