Summary:
YcgV is a potential adhesin. It was identified as a protein with similarity to antigen 43 (Ag43), a self-recognizing surface adhesin and member of the Autotransporter (AT) family of proteins [Zhai02, Roux05]. Deletion of the ycgV gene has no significant effect on adhesion or biofilm formation, while increased expression of YcgV causes an increase in adhesion to solid surfaces and increased biofilm formation [Roux05].
