Escherichia coli K-12 substr. MG1655 Growth Medium: LB Lennox

Summary:
Lysogeny broth (LB) is a nutritionally rich medium, primarily used for the growth of bacteria. LB media formulations have been an industry standard for the cultivation of Escherichia coli since the 1950s. In his original 1951 paper, Bertani used 10 g/L NaCl and 1 g/L glucose [Bertani51]. Recipes published later have typically omitted the glucose and varied the amount of NaCl. The LB Lennox broth is a lower-salt variation.
