Species: Aspergillus terreus

Aconitase has not been purified from Aspergillus terreus. However, the enzymatic activity has been demonstrated in assays performed with whole cells during the production of itaconate [Bonnarme95].

The Aco gene has been cloned and sequenced, and submitted to Genbank, although the work has not been published.
